Colon is the magic capital of the world?
Often we have been asked this, after all, how can a village of less thank 1,200 claim to be the world capital of anything? It can all be traced back to the 1920's. In 1926, Harry Blackstone was looking for lakefront property to purchase. The magic touring troupe had been summering near Kalamazoo and had outgrown the property. Then on a Sunday drive, and completely by chance, Harry's wife, Inez, came south of Kalamazoo through Leonidas, and to our small village of Colon.
